Social media gaming within Facebook, smartphone
applications, gaming sites is growing fast. eMarketer estimates that, by 2012,
over 68 million users will actively play games.
Large gaming audiences are increasingly of interest to brand
advertisers. Last week , after five month beta testing trial, during which five
brands tested out the new function, TrialPay and TubeMogul announced the new
in-game Facebook placements. 4,000 random social game players were surveyed to
analyze the effectiveness of the new advertising medium.

- Longer engagement
The survey shows that video ads displayed in Facebook social
games provide a unique opportunity for brand advertisers to reach consumers
where they are increasingly spending their time and discovering video.
