What are the trends on online video consumption in Europe?
comScore’s recently
published statistics for online video viewing and ad exposure confirms that the
biggest growth of video ad consumption lies in Europe.
In the UK - 80% of
online Brits saw an online video in January 2012 and over 64% percent were
exposed to video ads.
In France comScore
discovered a similar picture with a lower proportion of the population exposed
to online video in general.
Consumer
consumption is doubling across all devices and this is what's driving increased
publisher and advertiser activity. Video ads are a significant investment and
so far advertisers seem to be re-purposing their TV ads in to shorter pre-rolls
(in-streams) with little resistance from viewers, who value the video content
that the ad is sponsoring.
