33% of US population will use social networking and video on mobile devices by 2016

Content consumption on mobile devices is on
the rise, including video viewing, music and social networking. According to
eMarketer, by 2016, close to one third of the US population (over 110 million Americans)
will enjoy content on a mobile phone at least once a month.
Study
also reveals that:
- The population of mobile music listeners will nearly triple between now and 2016 adding up to 81.3 million. That will include music directly downloaded or streamed to mobile phones at least once per month.
- It's estimated that by 2014 over 42.6% of social network users will be accessing content on a go via smartphones at least once a month.
- Most of people will be accessing Facebook via their phones (49.4 million) and that number is expected to rise to 93.9 million by 2014.
